Starting today, Thailand Immigration is not allowing 15-day and 30-day immigration exempt stamps for land border crossings. People with a valid Thailand visa (tourist, Non-B, Non-ED, Non-O) may cross and return to activate their exit/entry obligation.

This sudden move may be tied to recent events in Bangkok and possible immigration lapses that need to be remedied. The restrictions may possibly be eased within a short period like they have in the past once they feel they are comfortable doing so. We are getting more information on the scope of this new regulation and we will post updates here. If you sign up to our email update service on this website, we will send notifications as we know more.
